Environment: Ordesa, Cañon de Añisclo, Sobrarbe, Peña Montañesa
Escalona is located in a strategic place to visit the Comarca de Sobrarbe. From here you can visit the most important places of this region of the Pirenees.
Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, declared as World Heritage by the UNESCO, which is formed by 4 sectors:
Sector Añisclo: Close to Escalona we find the entrance to the Cañón de Añisclo, a 13 km road where the ravine of the Bellos river can be well appreciated.
Sector Escuaín: At the entrance of the Cañon the Añisclo you can access to the valleys of Puértolas and escuaín. There we can enjoy of beautiful views such as the Gargantas de Escuaín or the village of Bestué.
Sector Pineta: Is considered to be one of the most beautiful scenarios of the park. You can access to the valley of Pineta from Bielsa. There are several excursions that you can do on the valley such as ‘Llanos de la Larri’ (easy), ‘Balcón de Pineta’ or ‘Lago de Marboré’ (more difficult).
Parque Natural de la Sierra y Cañones de Guara: paradaise of gorge walking in Europe.
Parque Natural del Posets-Maladeta: from this natural park you can enjoy fantastic views and several unforgettable excursions such as the ascension to Punta Suelza or to ‘Basa la Mora’.
Medieval village of Aínsa: Historical and monumental complex declared as World heritage. You can visit the ‘plaza mayor’, the tower and the church built in the XI century.
Bielsa: Village located at the entrance of Pineta’s Valley. The village has the museum of the ‘Valley of Pineta’, the ‘bolsa of bielsa’, the etnologic museum as well as an exposition about the typical flora and fauna of the region.
Tella: Typical mountain village. The village has a dolmen, route of chapelsand the Witch and Bear museum.
Valle da la Fueva: This valley is well known by its natural and cultural resources, such as the romanic chapel ‘San juan de Toleda (XI century) declared as natural monument and ‘Muro de Roda’ a fortified romanic complex.
Santuario Mariano de Torreciudad: located close to the medieval tower and above the ‘El Grado’ reservoir.
Monasterio de san Victorián: Close to the ‘Peña montañesa’is one of the oldest monasteries in Spain (VI century). Actually is under restoration.
